  • Private practice Registered Dietitian services are not covered by the OHIP system. However, you may have extended health care benefits for a Registered Dietitian and should call to inquire about your individual health insurance plan (examples Green Shield, Manulife, The Great-West Life, Sun Life, etc.). Many clients also pay for services directly and your receipt is tax deductible in Ontario.

  • We are Registered Dietitians within the province of Ontario. We can accept clients from other provinces in Canada with the exceptions of British Columbia, Alberta, Quebec and PEI.

  • Yes!! In-person, video, and phone consultations are now available. If you choose a video consultation, an e-mail with a link to a secure video platform will be e-mailed to you 1-2 days before your appointment. Simply click on the link at the time of your appointment. If you book a phone consultation, the dietitian will be calling you at the time of your appointment.

  • Registered Dietitians are regulated health care professionals who have earned a bachelor of science degree specializing in nutrition and dietetics from an accredited university and have completed a dietetic internship or equivalent practical training.

    To use the title Registered Dietitian (RD), dietitians must be registered with the dietetic regulatory body in the province in which they practice.

    Registered Dietitians translate the science of nutrition to provide evidence-based medical nutrition therapy to promote health as well as treat chronic disease.

    Registered Dietitians are often covered under extended health care insurance plans.

This emerging medical nutrition model goes far beyond just diet changes.   • No, another health care provider’s referral is not needed to book an appointment. Many clients are self-referred. The only time a physician’s referral is needed, is if it is required by your health insurance policy for reimbursement. However, this is not usually a pre-requisite.

  • Personal health information collected from your practitioner will be kept private and confidential. Any information obtained during your sessions will not be shared unless there is consent to sharing your medical and nutrition information with collaborating practitioners and/or there is risk of harm to the client or others. Client records will be kept secure on an electronic charting system that is password protected. Our team follows all jurisprudence and ethical guidelines as established by the College of Dietitians of Ontario.

  • Before our consultation, we will thoroughly review your case and start the investigative process. During our appointment time, we will further explore your health history, labs, medications, supplements, and current lifestyle and dietary habits. This will also include a dietary intake assessment and health goal setting. You will walk away with your own individualized nutrition care plan including lifestyle and nutrition recommendations, customized supplement protocols (if applicable), further lab work or referral suggestions and supplemental resources.
